Do you have a preliminary credential under legislation prior to SB 2042? Is time running out for you to complete the required course work to earn a professional clear credential under the "old" Ryan requirements? State and federal requirements pressure districts to hire and assign fully credentialed teachers, so we urge you to make sure you have enough time to finish the professional clear courses within the 5-year limit (after receipt of a preliminary credential). Please download a pdf of Extension's Ryan Professional Clear courses.
Extension courses numbered X300 through X399 are designated as professional courses in education. Courses in this series have been approved by the Education Department on the UCSC campus and, when required, approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).
Course Requirements
We offer CCTC-approved courses to clear Ryan credentials and meet the selected teacher preparation requirements for SB 2042 credentials. Since this is a transition period--shifting from the "old" Ryan to the new SB 2042-you should confirm with the administrators of your credential program that these courses are acceptable.
