Program Overview

Beyond project managers who have mastered the fundamentals, Silicon Valleycompanies also need senior leaders with breadth, vision and strategic acumen to drive results across multiple initiatives as well as divisional, geographic, and cultural lines. This higher level of responsibility requires not only demonstrated ability as a project manager but also deeper command and application of the latest management science, decision support systems, and competitive scheduling methods.

Based on decades of experience educating the region's most skilled professional project managers, the Advanced Applied Project Management (AAPM) certificate program at UCSC Extension in Silicon Valleyis designed to deliver precisely these skills. The course covers clear-cut advanced applied techniques grounded in research-based theory and real-world cases, including the use of analytical hierarchy processes to drive decision making, strategic thinking and problem solving, and competitive project scheduling.
