Program Overview

We have a tradition and spirit here in the Valley that precipitates greatness. While the products get the spotlight, it's the accomplished leaders who make it happen. Modern leaders will face critical and historic challenges, but raw talent alone is insufficient to meet them effectively.

With a core set of acquired essential tools, you can become a leader who takes charge with confidence and authority—trusting in your genuine ability to adapt, refine, and do whatever is necessary to deliver results when they count. You need to have a sense of social responsibility as well, taking pride in meeting stakeholder and public needs for the present and future.

For 20 years, UCSC Extension's program for Executives has put the resources of the Universityof Californiato work for professionals like you. Though many executive programs charge more than $10,000 for curriculum of this caliber, the Business Leadership program is $5,500—an extraordinary value that includes exceptional faculty and the opportunity to network with leaders from Silicon Valley's top organizations. Tuition includes all instructional materials, textbooks, dinners and parking.

Companies and agencies may reserve space in the program, even if they have yet to determine which individual representatives will attend. Space is limited to 30 participants and the program often fills quickly, so reserve a place for yourself, a staff member or colleague today.

Course Information

The SVBL Program meets each Wednesday from March 16 through May 18, from 1:30 to 8:30 pm, so you'll have your mornings free to attend to your other professional responsibilities. We also include dinner with each session so that you can spend time sharing ideas with other leaders in Silicon Valleyand beyond. The friendly, informal atmosphere provides opportunities to make valuable contacts with peers from Silicon Valley's top organizations. We help you make the best use of your time in other ways, too. Each topic is completely covered in one session. This ensures that only essential information is presented.

The program is comprised of one course split over 10 weekdays and totalling 70 hours. A diverse cadre of Expert Instructors with lecture on a variety of topics, including:
