UCSC Extension's Early Enrollment Discount is 10 percent off the tuition fee on most courses offered. It is available two weeks or more before the eligible courses begin, expiring 14 calendar days before each course’s start date. This discount cannot be combined with any other special offers or discounts, and no discount will be made retroactively or after the course has begun. When multiple discounts apply, an eligible student is allowed to take the single highest discount.
Tuition Assistance
Displaced or disadvantaged workers may be eligible for federal assistance through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) or the Employment Development Department (EDD). For students who qualify, funds may be applied toward the cost of the Extension course fees, books, and materials. For additional information or to determine eligibility, contact either your local Workforce Investment Board or Extension's coordinator at wib@ucsc-extension.edu. Funding eligibility must be determined prior to enrolling or participating in any course.
Alumni Discounts
Members of all UC alumni associations receive a 10 percent discount voucher, with a maximum value of $50. The voucher may be applied toward any UCSC Extension course. Vouchers cannot be applied retroactively. To take advantage of the discount, select a course and download an enrollment form. Complete the form and return it via fax or mail along with your voucher and payment for the remainder of the course fees.
Extension students are invited to become members of the UCSC Alumni Association after completing 15 or more units of credit courses. Call (408) 861-3700 for more information.

- Though courses are on the main campus, enrollment is only through UCSC Extension.
- As an employee, you'll receive full credit for courses, but cannot obtain a degree as an Open Campus (Concurrent Enrollment) student.
- Open Campus enrollment is on a space available basis. You must contact the instructor to confirm that there is room at first class meeting.
- Open Campus enrollment is limited to 12 units per quarter, with no exceptions.
